CHALLENGE
Škoda Auto faced challenges in detecting systematic quality trends due to the time lag between vehicle production and initial warranty claims, requiring manual analysis. They sought to identify patterns related to quality management and components to enable faster responses and forecast specific trends based on warranty claims. The complexity of vehicle equipment and data was a primary challenge.
SOLUTION
Colours of Data conducted an analysis of quality-related data from warranty claims, integrated with production records and component data. This led to a methodology for identifying patterns in quality management and forecasting trends. The solution was implemented as a user-friendly dashboard, allowing users to select and examine specific equipment types and visualize forecasted warranty claim rates. A bridge table of common patterns for specific quality concerns was also developed to enable AI-driven forecasts over time.
RESULTS
The identification of quality management patterns and component trends allows for a proactive approach to quality assurance, contributing to efficiency improvements and cost savings associated with warranty claims and recalls. The AI-driven analytical dashboard provides valuable insights and supports faster decision-making, leveraging human expertise in the analysis process while reinforcing the digitalization strategy of the quality department.
